November 2009 - NZ-UK Link Culinary Challenge 2009
With more than 50 entries and an extremely high calibre of candidates, this year's NZ-UK Culinary Challenge competition's cook-off at Westminster Kingsway College on 9th November saw first class dishes and tough decisions for judges.
Head Judge Peter Gordon said "The contestants this year were seemingly a notch above past years - or perhaps they were all more even-pegged which raised the standard of the competition. The dishes presented not only looked and tasted great, they showcased really mature skills which reflects well on the contestants training, mentors, and ability. With contestants like those we had this year, there's no reason to worry that British culinary standards will be slipping anytime soon."
McCullough Moore were responsible for generating entries, corresponding with them and judges.

September 2009 - NACC Conference & Exhibition 2009
The NACC Conference and Exhibition always provides exactly the appropriate balance of good information, learning and fun. The 2009 event was no exception and the large number of delegates were treated to an outstanding range of thought provoking presentations and live demonstrations punctuated by two sparkling social ‘get togethers’.
This year we saw some changes in the way that the conference was presented. Organisers responded to feedback from previous years’ delegates and ensured that expectations were more than fulfilled. Holding the NACC AGM on the first afternoon and concentrating the speakers on the first full day, allowed more time for visiting the exhibition and provided the opportunity for setting up a practical demonstration for a large part of the final day.
September 2009 - Hollywood pre-conference night at NACC conference goes down like a storm!
This year, following the NACC Annual General Meeting the amazing pre-conference ‘warm-up’, was built around a ‘Hollywood’ theme. Delegates had been invited to come dressed as their favourite movie star. For those unable to hire, make or cobble together an outfit, alternatives were provided at the supper tables. Soon the room was filled with Cowboys and Indians, Gangsters and characters from the Science Fiction and Horror cinemas. Some of Hollywoods’ favourites were there in the form of larger than life models of James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and others. On-going entertainment was continuous with screened clips from old films and sound tracks of the great themes and the chance to ride the bucking bull.

April 2009 - McCullough Moore takes 48 hospitality students from Westminster Kingsway on a gastronomic tour to St Emilion, France
JJ Lui, senior culinary lecturer at Westminster Kingsway College said “We approached Billie and Shirley to organise the Culinary Arts Departments 2009 gastronomic tour to France this Easter, on no better recommendation than word of mouth, we were not disappointed. Their management of this event was first class and professional both in their planning and execution, often providing advice on unthought-of avenues of planning and administration.
Through the connections and direction of Bev Puxley the students were able to visit châteaux’s and vineyards that are not open to the public, goose farms off the beaten path to observe the ancient art of gavage in the production of foie gras. Highlights included a guided tour of the Rougie factory and neuf chatele to see the production of cheese. Shirley and Bev’s facilitation and assistance during the accompanied tour helped the college to inspire our students on a culinary journey through experiences they will remember for the rest of their lives, a standard that would not have been possible without their help, all this during very turbulent times both with the difficulties with the airlines and the financial exchange rate change, problems it must be said they predicted and overcame with no disruption to the students. McCullough Moore are the leading company of event management for the catering industry, blazing the path for others to follow and this tour only confirmed their reputation and self imposed high standards”
