Foodies on Tour, Florida 2008

A five day study tour combining a unique culinary learning experience 'behind the scenes' at the Walt Disney World® Resort with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Show 08.

Walt Disney World Resort has 450 individually themed restaurants covering a 43 square mile property. It has the highest standards of service in the world - and certainly one of the slickest food and beverage purchasing and distribution systems in existence.

Disney truly set standards for us to aspire to, and new foodservice tour operators - Foodies on Tour worked with the Disney Institute to develop an outstanding, tailormade study tour specifically for executives from the UK foodservice industry. Planned exclusively for Foodies on Tour delegates, Disney shared some of the secrets of their culinary success.

The tour was planned to ensure a continual culinary learning experience and combined attendance at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Show with tailored seminars, presentations and insightful back of house visits throughout the Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner was a different learning experience!

Farm to fork topics covered growing crops and sourcing product to menu development and food trends all the way through to purchasing, distribution, restaurant and kitchen design and finally customer service.
